Movie Recommendations Part II and IPL Awards.........

Okay so m back with some movie recommendations. Now for a change i felt there r certain hindi movies that can be recommended which u might have not seen. so Here we go:

1. Johnny Gaddar

Its a suspense thriller and as usual the plot revolves around money, murder etc. But the cool thing here is that u r told from the beginning WHO IS THE KILLER. Ha ha ha. Isnt that funny??? Then wats the thrill. For that watch the movie. U will be thoroughly enjoyed. Neil Nitin Mukesh(same person not three different ones ;-) ) is good in his debut movie.

2. Mithya

Mithya is a dark comedy. Starring Ranvir shourey, it has a very unusual story. Now i wud love to tell it but i feel the joy of watching it then is lost. Okay a bit of info. Its a movie about a struggling actor(shorey) and he comes to know there is a notorious gangster who looks exactly like him. Having naserruding shah, saurabh shukla(kallu mama of satya) as supporting cast, u dont need anything else.

3. The Pianist

I had watched the movie two weeks back. Had not much of expectations. Soon after it started, i started liking it. It was so simple in its storytelling. Yet it was so effective. No spectacular scene, no such dialogue that can make u stand up and clap for it. But still it looked so real in its portrayal and i realized the virtues of Simplicity. The movie is a real life story about a Polish Jew person(who happens to be a pianist by profession) and his struggle in Nazi era. Andrian Brody(the lead) plays the role really well bt dont think he deserved an oscar for this. Perhaps the other nominees were even worse. ;-) But real credit goes to Roman Polanski, the director for such a great movie.

IPL AWARDS

Okay now something humorous. Following are the IPL AWARDS 2009 that i had seen on net. These r not my creations. But Credit goes to those who created it. ENJOY.

Good One

Well was away from blog due to some reasons. But m back. Sharing with u all a humorous story that i had read some days back on net. ENJOY IT :-

The marketing director of Nescafe manages to arrange a meeting with the Pope at the Vatican.

After receiving the papal blessing, the Nescafe official whispers,' Your Eminence, I have some business to discuss. We at Nescafe have an offer for you. Nescafe is prepared to donate $100 million to the church if you change the Lord's Prayer from 'Give us this day our daily bread' to 'Give us this day our daily coffee'.

The Pope looks outraged and thunders, "That is impossible. The Prayer is the word of the Lord, It must not be changed." Well," says the Nescafe man somewhat chastened, "We anticipated your reluctance. For this reason, and the importance of the Lord's Prayer to all Catholics, we will increase our offer to $300 million. All we require is that you change the Lord's Prayer from 'Give us this day our daily bread' to 'Give us this day our daily coffee'."

Again, even more sternly, the Pope replies, "That, my son is impossible. For the prayer is the word of the Lord and it must not be changed."

Finally, the Nescafe director says, "Your Holiness, we at Nescafe respect your adherence to your faith, we realise that tradition is essential to your beliefs, we fully understand the importance of the word of the Lord ................but we do have one final offer. Please discuss it with your cardinals. We will donate $500 million to the great Catholic church if you would only change the Lord's Prayer from 'Give us this day our daily bread' to 'Give us this day our daily coffee'. Please, please consider it." And he leaves.

The next day the Pope convenes the College of Cardinals. "There is some Good news," he announces, "and some bad news ..... The good news is, he continues to a hushed assembly, ' that the Church will get $ 500
million."

"And what is the bad news, your Holiness?" asks a Cardinal.

"Sadly" says the Pope ,

"We would have to lose the Brittania account!!"

Some movie recomendations..............PART 1

As i had talkd in my previous post abt it, today the day has arrived for giving u(yes u people, u cant believe that. I know now a days charity has become obsolete :-) ) to enjoy these memorable movies. And there r lots of movies that i wud be recommending. Hence the topic has words PART 1. So here we go:

1. The Dark Knight:

Whenever i have watched super hero movies, the one thing that i have hated the most is that they try to hav comic element in them. I cant understand y is that being done. I m enjoying a terrific action sequence and the very next scene has some stupid joke being told upon. Now that spoils everything. The animosity between hero and villain doesnt look real. Thank GOD. we had BATMAN. Watch this movie for its sheer DARKNESS. U love the way things take place. Marvellous dialogues. Man, those dialogues deserve a place in philosophical books specially those by joker.

Became a nolan(the director) fan after watching this movie. But How can i not talk about the show stopper. YES HEATH LEDGER. A memorable performance for his last movie. He was 30 but made joker look like 40 something. Awesome acting by him. AT LEAST WATCH THIS MOVIE FOR HIS SAKE.

My Favourite Scene: Batman and joker talking in cellar.

2.The Prestige

Now i told u that i became nolan fan after watching the dark knight. But after watching this, he is in my list of favourite directors. What a MOVIE!!!!!!! No words to describe it. Its one of the most INTELLIGENT movies i have ever seen. The movie plays with the audience like anything. Like dark knight too, the movie has a philosophical background but told so commercially that no one can get bored.

The cast is superb. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman play their part to perfection. But others also make this movie fantabulous by awesome performances. Do watch it. I mean just watch it. U will come to know only then.

Favourite Scene: There are many. This movie has loads of them.

3. A Beautiful Mind

I believe that russel crowe's best performance till date has been in this movie. The movie on the whole could hav bored u out but due to this man's performance u just r glued to the screen to see what happens next. Crowe plays the part so convincingly that u feel the pain he goes through in the movie. Ur heart goes out for him. An oscar deserving performance but dont know how these guys always find someone else to fill the place. WATCH IT.

Thats enough for this week. I wont be recommending as it may affect ur studies. Padhai bhi karo yaar. its exam time.

One more thing. I didnt mention any hindi movie bcos i feel u all must have seen the good ones. Thats y talking about english ones. Enjoy them.

WHERE ARE THE ISSUES????

This is something that i strongly feel about. Elections are going on and nobody is discussing the issues that concern the common man. Cmon yaar. What about poverty, recession, corruption, reservations, global warming, terrorism, criminalisation of politics. But no one is discussing this. Instead our beloved politicians are busy discussing the following things of grave importance:

1. WHETHER THE CURRENT PM IS THE WEAKEST OR NOT?(NOW CMON WE R GOING TO ELECT A NEW ONE AND PEOPLE STILL DISCUSSING ABOUT PAST)

2. WHETHER BJP IS GOVERNED BY RSS? ( Y R U BOTHERED. LET THEM DO WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. VOTERS WILL ANS THEM IN ELECTIONS)

3. THE OTHER GANDHI(MR.VARUN) SPREADING COMMUNALISM JUST FOR THE SAKE OF SOME VOTES. (PLS TAKE SOME CUE FROM UR COUSINS MR.GANDHI)

4. LALU YADAV AND HER WIFE CALLING PEOPLE WITH ABUSIVE WORDS.

Havent we seen enough of this. Its a shame that these people dont even have the guts to discuss the important issues atleast when elections are going on. The whole voting awareness campaign takes a downfall due to these things. Y would people vote if all r indulged in such mudslinging. Its a shame to see the two major national parties also being part of such shameful act.

Then also, we should never lose hope. Its my APPEAL to u ALL to come out and PLEASE VOTE SO THAT U CAN BE HEARD. Vote for what u believe in. In case u dont believe in any, choose the bad one among worst. :-)

Just now one letter from collectorate came to my society(which is being distributed to other societies too). The whole letter appeals to us(the voters) to vote without any feeling of fear, greed etc. The way the letter is written made me feel as if the person is begging us to vote. THAT ALSO FOR OUR RIGHT. The ELECTION COMMISSION is doing so much for free and fair elections. Lets VOTE to make sure DEMOCRACY stays alive.

Hmmm. What to post.

Now in recent days i had no idea about what shud i write about in the blog. I fail to think of any interesting topic that can make an entry. So was lying low getting completely detached to the blogging arena until i realized i might not be interested in writing again. So just to keep the habit going on, i m posting this.

Btw, didnt got selected in the FMS process. I knew that chances of not getting in were much higher. So there was no pressure on the day of results. In fact it was laughable from my side as i had to msg each and every friend of mine that i m not selected.(everybody told me to msg the result irrespective of the outcome). Great friends!!!! :-D

To post a topic is not an easy thing. Its a hard process. U have to structure the whole thing and make sure watever u wanted the reader to know is there. Sometimes while writing, wat u hav visualised of writing doesnt seem feasible and so one chances the whole script. Its really a process where u never know wat the final outcome would be.

Anyways, i hav watched several movies recently about which i would definitely be writing about sooner. Many of them are gems. Otherwise, there is REALLY nothing to speak of. There is a saying "DOING NOTHING IS BETTER THAN BEING BUSY DOING NOTHING". this post is also like that. i m saying nothing in the post but still writing it. :-D. Anyways, my purpose is fulfilled(of writing one post). Promise u next one would be much better.

My FMS GD/PI Experience

Now this one is not like those funny or intresting things that happen with people when they go for their gd/pi. My gd/pi was pretty simple without any hoopla or laughters caused while interacting with panelists. Still i wud like to write about it. One of my friends(Jay) emphasized that i shud write my experience on the blog. BOTTOM LINE: AT LEAST SOMEONE IS READING THE BLOG. :D so for jay and all others who read the blog here it is:

Btw prior to leaving for delhi i was in borrowing mode. borrowing file frm someone, tie from someone. During one such interaction, my friend amit while seeing the dress said carelessly "YEH KYA HAIN. IT SEEMS U R GOING FOR PARTY THERE". Now the problem was that the revelation came on the day of journey. I had some 3 to 4 hours left for boarding the train. "DAMN" was the only expression coming to my mind. And the whole rush for new trouser began. Atlast i got one but thanks AMIT for making me realize why life strikes back at alredy worsening times.

GD

On the D-day, the process started smoothly. All the 11 people were called for GD and then were taken to the hall with chairs arranged in semi circular positions. We all sat on them and soon DEAN welcomed us and said some calming words. The topic was "COMPETITION IS THE BEST ANTIDOTE FOR CORRUPTION". After 1 min of thinking, GD started. It was a FISHMARKET. Nobody was listening. All were trying to make themselves heard. There was no flow, no structure. Plain BAKBAK. Some, just for showing their gyan, said corruption is caused cos of media and bad education given to our children. WHOA!!!! wat was that. I spoke for two times. But no one was willing to listen. Overall performance: Below Average :(

PI

Now this was the only chance left for me to prove myself. Now onwards i wud refer to panelists as P and myself as M. There were overall four panelists.

M(knocked the door)
P(laughing and indulged in gossiping)
M: May i come in sir?
P: haan ji aa jao.
M: Good Afternoon sir.
P: Good afternoon.
P: Baithoji baitho.(WOW. Delhi at its best :) )
P: So introduce urself.
M: All the gyan related to my studies. From where i m. Mentioned hobbies that m interested in reading political affairs and big fan of rahman's music hoping they wud ask me on that.
P: Good. So u hav an extempore topic. U can guess it.
M(feeling that topic wud be related to my hobbies and so happy)
P: Ur topic is IDIOT BOX
M:(A bit surprised but quickly got normal and started)
M: Gave all gyan about tv and its evolution. how so many channels hav erupted and still many may come. After 1 min they stopped me.

P: Why do u think it is called Idiot Box?
M: Sir perhaps it diverts us from our work and has masala programs.
P: But u never mentioned that in ur speech.
M:(udi baba big mistake) so smiled sheepishly and said yes sir.
P: So u r pursuing computers engg.
M: (ab gaya kaam se) yes sir.
P: Why these processors r called 1st generation, 2nd generation etc etc.
M: Talked about whole evolution of processors i.e from magnetic tapes to core2duo.
P: No but why r they called generation.
M: (great task made easier) Sir bcos of the time period for which they were used.
P: R u into reading.
M: Yes sir and talked about reading a book on Mumbai bomb blasts(at that cudnt remember anything else. watever came to my mind i spoke).
P: Wat abt economy, subprime crisis.
M: Yes sir, after reading on economy i feel govt is trying to do something.(lol y i said that) Gave 2 latest news related to economy and said was following subprime crisis.
P: So u follow politics.
M: yes sir.
P: So u must hav studied the CONSTITUTION.
M: (yeh kya hua bhai, completely taken aback) No sir not constitution.
P: (still going ahead) Wats the diff between rights and directives of principles.
M:(ab gaya kaam se) Sir dont hav much idea abt principles but rights such as right to elect, right of property( cursing myself for saying this as i forgot the basic rights)
P: (dissatisfied) is there anything called right to property.
M: Not sure sir. i m just assuming.
P: What r the two main parties in US.
M: (atlast something really related to politics) Democrats and Republicans
P: In UK
M: Labor party
P: Wats the other one.
M: Sir i do know bt cant recall the name.
P: Y do u want to do MBA.
M: Usual gyan.
P: thanks u can leave.
M: thanks sir.

SO overall it was not a stress interview. Panelists were friendly especially the one who wanted me to speak abt economy. Overall performance: average.

So i think my chances r slim. but still not losing the hope. Lets c.

Rahmaniac Glory and WAKE UP!!!!!

Now i have nothing more to say. The news channels must hav eaten up ur mind like anything for the whole day. So just enjoy the glory these Indians brought to us belonging to different parts of India.(Rahman and Resul from south, Gulzar from north).
Its moment of complete chaos for us fans. Visit the orkut community and one topic has fetched around 3000 posts. CANT BELIEVE THAT. We all r mad guys and we r proud of that. HA HA HA. If any of u wants to c my post on maestro copy the link given below

shaivalbhatia.blogspot.com/2009/01/arrahman-mozart-of-india.html

WAKE UP

Now there is a big festival coming up. Yeah its the biggest festival to be held in April may and u all should take part in it. The GENERAL ELECTIONS r coming and so gear up. Now do u hav voting cards. NO. seriously u dont hav that. Then pls rush up to jaagore.com and get urself registered. Rest would be taken care of by them. Now u can do atleast that. Its a wonderful initiative taken up by an NGO with a mission to see each and every person voting.

Now if u feel its a waste of time voting bcos no body does work then also i hav a reason for which u shud vote. If u loved the work of party then man its great. If not then vote for other party so that the existing DEVIL doesnt come to power again.
U know that u shud never allow same devil to torture u again. So that atleast they all r scared at the time of elections. And look at the positive side many govts r being elected. eg Gujarat,Delhi,MP etc. So PLEASE PLEASE do yourself this favour.
